The Sinai Peninsula is located in the northeastern corner of Egypt. It consists of 61,000 square km divided into two governorates; the southern Sinai and the northern Sinai governorate.  This arid peninsula features flat, rolling plains to the north and mountains toward the south. 8. Siwa 

Siwa is a majestic oasis located at the edge of the Great Sand Sea, part of the vast Sahara, close to the Libyan border. Siwa Oasis was the most inaccessible of all Egypt's oases and due to new road links, it has only recently opened up to tourism. Siwa Oasis is a hidden natural gem located between the great sand sea of the western desert and the Qattara Depression, about 50 km (30 mi) east of the Libyan border and 560 km (348 mi) from Cairo. The history of the oasis can be traced back to the 26th dynasty around 525 BC, which was called by ancient Egyptians the field of tress. The local people are known as Siwans, and to this day have their own culture and customs and speak the Berber language, called Siwi, rather than Arabic. Many women still wear traditional costumes and silver jewelry like those displayed in the traditional Siwan House Museum in the town center. The area is also famous for its springs, of which there are approximately 1,000. The water is sweet and is said to have incredible medical properties.

9. Faiyum

Faiyum is a majestic city located in the middle of Egypt, just 100 km (62 mi) southeast of Cairo offering the most incredible. It begins its history as an arid desert basin that transformed into a rich oasis when one of the Nile river branches silted up and diverted the water to it that a city was built across its lands during the middle kingdom (2040-1782 BC).
