The black desert of the Oasis is distributed along about 30 km in western Egypt between the White Desert in the south and the Bahariya Oasis in the north and was created from various volcano small rocks and stones that lay on an orange-brown background like a beautiful modern art painting. The approximate of the black desert is the Crystal Mountain which consists of a barite substance that is way softer than crystals and looks as if it originated from a comic book.
The blue desert is an area located in the Sinai desert in the red sea city resort of the red sea where a great number of rocks and constructions are painted blue by a Belgian artist who used ten tons of painting colors which was a gift from the united nations to celebrate the signing of peace between Egypt and Israel in 1979.
One of the rarest locations in Wadi El Hitan consists of hundreds of Archaeoceti fossils (an extinct sub-order of whales) that helped provide an explanation of the Evolution of whales. The fossils are located at Wadi Al-Hitan (whale Valley) 150 km south of Cairo in the Faiyum Governorate. The place is significant as it has various fossils in a very preserved condition of whales and other animals such as crocodiles, sharks, and rays which make it possible to fully reconstruct the surrounding ecological and environmental conditions of that time period and record their evolution process. The site was able to offer information and explanations for the evolution of whales. The site became was inducted into the Unesco world heritage sites in July 2005.
The watermelon valley is located in the new valley governorate in Egypt which is a group of Chert nodules of the Drunka Formation (Lower Eocene)that are mostly spherical. They have diameters from 40 up to 120 cm, plus they are quasi-uniformly spaced 2–3 m apart in the plane of bedding, have concentric internal structure and, except for rare small (<6 cm) solid chert nodules, are less than 85% certified.
Just two hours away from Cairo lies The Serapium Forest in Ismailia governorate which started as a dry desert, then a project was launched in the 1990s between German and Egyptian scientists, to utilize Egypt’s abundance of sunlight and stable artificial water flow to grow a variety of trees. And the result was over 200 hectares of forested land, which is now a heavenly garden filled with native and non-native trees such as lemon, khaya, jojoba, pine trees, and eucalyptus.
The eastern Sahara is located on the east of the Nile river between the red sea the Nile river and extends from Egypt in the north till the south of Eritrea with parts of Ethiopia and Sudan. The Eastern Desert which is known as the Arabian Desert is famous for its volcanic-rock mountains that run along the Red Sea Coast, which have been formed about three billion years ago. It spans across south-eastwards into north-eastern Sudan and from the Nile River valley eastwards to the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea, covering an area of about 85,690 square miles, which is about 21% of Egypt's surface area. The eastern desert is known as the red sea hills or the Arabian desert where the most collection of natural spots and restores are located around the magical Red Sea Riveria.
The Great Sand Sea is located at the northern edge of the Sahara Desert that covers more than 27,000 square miles. It is the second-largest sand-covered area in the world and features incredible sand dunes that stretch to 85 miles in length. It is known that there are five types of sand dunes in the world, and Egypt's Great Sand Sea has four of them: star, whaleback, barchan, and straight or linear dunes. Each dune is formed by blowing winds and sands colliding together from different directions.
The Sinai Desert is a part of the Sinai Peninsula, located in the northeastern corner of Egypt. This arid peninsula features flat, rolling plains to the north and mountains toward the south.
